Data stored locally

Your player profile, settings, progress, and unlocked content are stored on your device. They remain there until you reset them in the app.

In addition, the app backs up your player profile in your device's keychain so that coins, level, and unlocks survive deleting and reinstalling the app. If iCloud Keychain is turned on, Apple syncs this backup to your other devices. The backup is not transmitted to us; we have no access to it. You can remove it through the keychain settings of iOS.

Online play and server

• Pseudonymous profile ID, display name, chosen emoji, room data, and game data for multiplayer features
• Assignment of display names to profile IDs so that every name is used only once
• Game results, wins, and leaderboard statistics; only the best hundred players are stored
• IP address and technical connection data for operation, security, and troubleshooting
• Reports and moderation data for reported profiles

Active room and game data is discarded after the room closes. Leaderboard values, reserved display names, and required moderation data remain stored until they are no longer needed or a valid deletion request is received. Players who drop out of the best hundred are removed from the leaderboard file.

An invitation link to a room only retrieves the room code from our server. No cookies are set.

The game server is located in Frankfurt am Main and operated by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus; the licence server is located in Germany at IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur. Both process the data as processors.

Gifts, notices, and updates

On launch, the app asks our licence server for personal gifts (for example coins), for operational notices (for example maintenance), and whether a minimum app version is required. This transmits your pseudonymous profile ID and the installed app version, plus your IP address as a technical necessity. No other data is transmitted.

The app asks Apple whether a newer app version is available (iTunes version lookup using the app's bundle identifier). Apple receives your IP address as a technical necessity. The rating prompt in the app is Apple's system feature; we learn neither whether nor how you rate.

Deletion and privacy choices

You can change advertising consent through the privacy options in Zhol. Tracking can also be disabled in iOS Settings. To request deletion of server-side profile data or leaderboard values, email us. Additional information may then be required for secure identification.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time for the future and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

External services

Google Mobile Ads and the User Messaging Platform provide optional rewarded advertising and consent management. Depending on consent and device settings, they may process an IP address or approximate location, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, diagnostics, and performance data. Apple acts as an independent controller when you use Game Center or make optional in-app purchases through StoreKit, subject to Apple's privacy policy. Apple Privacy Policy.
